New Years Eve

Tonight we headed to Mom's house to celebrate New Years Eve. We had a nice dinner with Paws and Mary, Mike and Dee, Mom and our family. By about 9 o'clock Mick was exhausted and we headed for home. Mallory got to stay the night with Grandma since she sees midnight every night! I am sure Mallory is having great fun tonight as we are all in bed already. I will say that 2009 was another great year for our family. Each and every day I realize how lucky we are, we have such a wonderful family, such fun and caring friends. I can't wait to see what 2010 brings to the Madsen household, if you choose please follow us at "The Lives of Mallory & Mick." Happy New Year to each and every one of you!

Ice Skating, Bowling, and Friends!

Yesterday some friends planned an outing at the Wichita Ice Skating Rink. I took both kids but one didn't last to long so we went home and he got a nap while Mallory skated and then went shopping with friends. Today was a fun bowling outing for the kids. This time I was lucky enough to get to go and Chris stayed home with Mick while he napped. I must say we are so lucky to have such kind and fun friends to hang out with. Here are a few pictures from our outings.

Final Christmas Celebration

For some reason I feel like we have been celebrating Christmas FOREVER, I guess we did start all the way back at Thanksgiving. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday we headed to Kansas City to celebrate our last Christmas with my Dad and his family. We headed out last minute on Sunday evening and had a quick visit at my Grandma's house with everyone and got to open a few presents. Monday we got up and went shopping and then while Mick napped Dad, Chris, and Mallory went ice skating, Mallory really loves to skate and had fun without Mick! After skating we were treated to Mallory's favorite place for dinner The Cheesecake Factory. Tuesday we got up and went to Grandma's house and Mallory was dying to play the game of Life. I quickly decided that wasn't going to work with Mick around so Chris, Mick and I loaded up and headed to Nordstrom. The kids got me a gift card for Christmas so I could get more of my favorite brand of makeup. I ended up having a great lady that offered to do my makeup for me, a little treat to myself. After I was all finished we headed back to Grandma's house for lunch and then a little play time before heading home. We also took some time to copy down some of my Grandma's favorite recipes! We had a great weekend with everyone but I will admit I am ready to sleep in my own bed and spend a couple days at home, I know Mallory is as well, she hasn't been home since Christmas Eve. We had a wonderful Christmas season at our house and I can't wait for next year but will admit I am exhausted! My kids are so lucky to have so many different family members that love them to death!

Christmas Day

Every year we always spend the night at my Mom's house so we can all wake up together on Christmas morning! This year Chris and I were up around 8 and both kids slept until almost 9. I couldn't believe that Mallory wasn't up earlier! We had a great morning full of opening gift and a yummy homemade breakfast made up of egg casserole, and homemade cinnamon rolls. We all got such wonderful gifts this year, it was so fun watching Mick understand the concept of what happens when you unwrap a present. Mallory had great fun unwrapping all her gifts, this year was a Juicy Couture and Pottery Barn Teen year for her, such fun!! I hope everyone had a fun and Merry Christmas. Hard to believe it is over. We have at least one more Christmas to celebrate when we head to Kansas City on Monday. I counted up and Mallory will of had 7 Christmas celebrations this year, she will be worn out by the time break is over.
It's hard to tell but Santa made a visit. Mick got a Geo Trax train and Radiator Springs. Mallory got a Blu Ray DVD player, Karaoke machine, and an awesome jewelry box.
Mick checking out Lightening McQueen and his new car set.
Mick and Daddy playing with his new train.
Mallory got a pair of Juicy Couture tennis shoes!
Mick saw this present and wanted to open it even though it wasn't his! He carried this all the way to Chris, such a strong little guy.
Mallory got a book all about the body, after all the Juicy jewelry this just didn't rank up there as high on the list, but it is a very cool book, we had fun looking through it.
Mick got a Cars backpack on wheels. Walter has a Thomas the train one and Mick loved pulling it around.
Mallory got a Juicy travel themed bracelet.
Laura found this wonderful artist who painted this picture of Howie for Mom. It turned out really cute.
Mick opening another present, he loved ripping the paper off the packages!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve in Wichita was super cold, snowing and winds up to 40 mph. We decided to get packed up early and head on over to Mom's and settle in. We had such a fun day filled with movies, Wii, yummy food, opening a few gifts and a ton of fun! Mick went to bed early and Mallory stayed up until 11.
We rented GForce and snuggled on the couch!
Mick (Superman) joined us after his nap.
We have a tradition that each person gets to open at least on present on Christmas Eve.
Mallory got a Mario Bros. game for her DSi.
Mick received a Matchbox airport.
Mallory got a balance board game. We had fun watching her try and roll the balls around and finish the maze.
Part of Mallory's Christmas present was new bedding for her room, these are the cute accent pillows.
Cookies for Santa, oh and chocolate milk.
Me and Mallory, Mick was sound asleep at this point.
