A Beautiful Weekend Day!!

This weekend was beautiful, a little windy for my liking but the sun was out so we were outside enjoying it! Yesterday we went to Sedgwick County park and let the kids feed the duck and then Mick run around at the playground. After Mick was worn out we let Mallory pick where she wanted to go and she chose Towne East, so we ended the evening with a little fun shopping! Here are a few pictures from our visit to the park.
Daddy and Mick throwing bread.
So much for throwing small pieces this time it was the whole slice.
Mallory and Chris.
If you enlarge this picture you will notice Mick has quit throwing pieces and eating the bread himself.
Climbing the wall at the park.
He loves running up and down this little hill.
Mick loved the slides as well.

Wanting to be like big sister.
Smile, once again Mick won't look at the camera.
Fun on the swing.

Easter Egg Fun!

This year I found a fun egg dyeing project for us to do off of a friends Facebook post. It required a little work ahead of time but Mallory and I had a great time making beautiful Easter eggs.
We started with a pile of old neck ties, I found some at the Goodwill and some at TJ Maxx, we cut the ties apart and then wrapped the eggs in the silk ties.
Next we wrapped the eggs in a layer of pillow case fabric and boiled the eggs.
We took the pillow case fabric off and let the eggs cool.
Mallory's favorite part was unwrapping the eggs and seeing how they turned out.
She added a little vegetable oil to make them pretty and shine.
Amazing beautiful eggs!
Another batch, I love all the pastel colors!
Easter morning Mallory arranged them nicely in baskets for display.
All three dozen. She has such a great time it about killed he to have to throw them away. Next year I am going to try and blow the eggs out ahead of time, hope I have lots of time and patience! I do not enjoy blowing out eggs! Hope you enjoyed seeing our Easter project!

Happy Easter!!

On Sunday we all woke up a little tired. At 1am our alarm system went off scaring us to death, I could hardly move. As we investigated a little more we found out that Mallory was sleep walking and went out into the garage, we were glad everyone was ok but Chris and I had a hard time falling back to sleep after all the excitement. Mallory spent the morning with her Dad so most of our Easter fun was in the afternoon. When Mallory got home we had the kids Easter baskets out and eggs hidden. I must say Mallory is kind of outgrowing this holiday but was a good sport for her brother. Mick on the other hand was very excited when he saw his Easter basket, so cute to watch him. After we hunted for eggs at our house we went to my Mom's house for another egg hunt and dinner. Mallory loves hunting for eggs at Grandma's house because some of her eggs have slips of paper that say what the gift is (meaning the gift is to big to fit into an egg.) We all had a great day but were very ready for bed when we got home!
Mallory with all of her eggs before going with her Dad.
Mallory arranged all of the eggs and wanted to display them all day.
Mick was so excited to find his basket when he got up from his nap.
Both kiddos looking through their goodies.
Look what I got!!
Mallory got a basket full of perfume, body lotion, and a couple gift cards.
Mick got a kite, bubbles, a couple small airplanes and trains.
So excited about his presents!
Once again trying to get a picture together was very hard so I got separate ones!
Say cheese!

The end to a wonderful day!

Saturday Night Church and Easter Egg Dyeing

We usually don't go to Church on Saturday night but since Easter Sunday is always so busy and Church is packed this is the one weekend we attend on Saturday night. As you can see by the pictures that Mick wanted nothing to do with being in pictures last night but I loved his outfit. I think he looks so handsome in sweater vests, and Mallory looks beautiful in her dress of choice for the evening. As usual Mick didn't want to go to the nursery but we didn't get called out to get him this time around which was nice. After we got home from Church Mallory and I spent the rest of the evening dyeing Easter eggs (I will write another post with more pictures and details of our egg project.) Hope you all had a wonderful and happy Easter!!

Well we tried is all I am going to say...
He had just gotten up from his nap so he was a little sleepy.

Taylor Swift Concert!

On Thursday night I took Mallory and two of her friends to the new Intrust Bank Arena to see Taylor Swift. We were very lucky and not only got 4 box seat tickets we also got a parking pass that let us park right next to the front doors. I will admit, Taylor puts on an awesome concert, she is young and has a ton of energy! The girls came over around 5:30 and finished getting ready and we headed to the concert, once there we made our way up to the box. We were treated to some pizza and cookies for dinner. Gloriana was the first opening act followed by Kellie Pickler. The girls wanted to get some Taylor Swift t-shirts so we headed to the SWAG booth, boy was I in shock at the amount of people in line, we ended up waiting for 4o minutes. All three girls got a t-shirt, backpack and light up necklace. We headed back to the box just in time to catch Kellie sing two songs and then wait for Taylor to come out. Once she came out she preformed for a little over two hours and did a great job. I was lucky to get to watch these three lucky girls have a great evening!

As we were leaving there was a Taylor Swift semi in our parking lot getting ready to load up, the girls wanted their picture taken next to it.
