Mint Chocolate Chip

Both of my children recently discovered a new favorite flavor of ice cream! I know that when I eat something more than likely I will end up sharing it with Mick but Mallory has now also taken a liking to Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream from Baskin Robbins. Just one more thing around the house I have to share :-)

Busy Saturday

Our Saturday wasn't just the normal clean the house, work in the yard Saturday, well the first half of the day was. The second half was filled with fun! The Maize South Campus which is the three new schools for those that don't know Maize well hosted a carnival, they had over 12 moonwalks and lots of other fun things for the kids to do.
Mick LOVES moonwalks!
Mallory was a great big Sis and went it to protect her little Brother from the big kids!
Our neighbor Austin is on the football team and Mallory got to dunk him.

We hurried home from the carnival I had one hour to shower and get ready to head out the door to High School Musical 2, On Stage with Mallory and her friend Olivia. My Grandpa's wife Mary Frances got us great seats and also went with us. The girls had a wonderful time and I was impressed with the kids in the play as well!

How much longer until it starts??

Meet Your Teacher Night

Due to the renovations at Mallory's school this year we had Meet Your Teacher Night the day after school started which was kind of weird. Here are a couple pictures from the evening.

First Day of School!!

Today was a day of mixed emotions for me. Mallory started 4th grade! I can't hardly believe she is in 4th grade and going to be 10 soon. After a great summer I will miss her dearly when she is gone during the day. The good part is she loves school so much I don't worry about her while she is gone. Today was no different, she woke up super excited to see all of her friends and meet her teacher. We got soaked walking into school, I mean every piece of clothing on me was dripping wet (small price to pay to see her off to school!) She got the her class and found out there is another Mallory this year! The class theme is the Monkey. There were Monkey's all over the class room, a couch with a jungle theme, looked like a lot of fun! She already knows many of her classmates and there were a few she hadn't met before. I know she will have a great year! Mick is going to wonder what happened, it's going to be pretty quite around here, no girls running all over!
This is the outfit Mallory picked out for the first day of school!
Big smiles as we were heading out the door!

At her desk ready to start the day.
I had actually gotten up and showered gotten my hair all done and this is what I looked like when I got to the car! Lovely huh, oh well it was worth it to get to walk into school!

New Pictures

These pictures are all from when we went to my Dad's house in June. Dad and Chris hired a professional to come out and get some great family photos!

Visit from Matt, Nancy, and Isabella

This week my cousin Matt, his daughter Isabella, and his wife to be Nancy, were in town for the week. Mallory and Isabella had a great time together shopping and hanging out. Mallory spent most of her time at my Mom's so I wasn't around much to catch all the action. Here are the few pictures that I did get.

National Night Out

Here are a few pictures from our neighborhood National Night Out party. I am Co-Chair of the social committee so I helped in most of the planning. Overall even though it was hot I think everyone had a great time. I even got re-connected with a friend that I went to high school with and we had no idea we lived in the same neighborhood, such a small world!
A visit from the Fire Department.
Mick out running with the big kids in the water.
We had a moonwalk, served ice cream, and the pool stayed open until 10.

Vacation Detour!

I am very sad to be writing this blog post so early. This was the week we are all supposed to fly to Cincinnati to go visit my Sister and her family. Unfortunately I had to go and get the most miserable cold I think I have ever had! We all decided it was best for us to not go due to Karl being so little. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to spending a week with my Sister and her new family of 4.

Little Karl is such a doll, I can't wait until I get to love on him again!
Laura and Karl, doesn't she look great for just having a baby!

My little Waltie, I love him to pieces!

Instead of going to Cincinnati my family of 4 took off to KC for the weekend. We weren't there very long but I had decided we weren't going to do our normal shop all weekend so I got online and got creative! Here is an album full of all of the fun things we did this weekend. Just click on the photo and it will bring up a whole album full of pictures.
