Track and Field Day

Track and field day was the same day as the spelling bee and the kids spring party, needless to say I was gone all day long. Oh yeah, we counted yearbooks that day as well. They had a bunch of fun events for the kids to participate in. Mallory didn't get 1st place in anything but had a good time. I tried to get pictures of her at each station.

Spelling Bee

Mallory was chosen to represent her class along with her friend Ashton at the third grade spelling bee this year. They have 8 third grade classes so 16 children were able to participate. I added the video of Mallory spelling her words, silly me don't know how to turn video clips. She got out on the word mountain (switched the a and the i) but overall did a great job. We were super proud of her for getting up in front of all the parents and classmates.

Sleepover at School

Mallory got to spend the night at school the first Friday in May. This was a reward for reading 150 SRC points. She had a blast and there were so many things for the kids to do. They fed them Pizza, had a Moonwalk, lots of crafts, movies, and best of all lots of friends! They were to go to bed at midnight and then the teachers woke them up at 6:30 for breakfast and then parents were to pick up at 7. Mallory came home a tired mess, but had a ton of fun!

Pool Opening

This year we opened our pool in April, we got lucky and had a beautiful week. Here is Mallory with a few of her friends testing out the freshly opened pool. We do have a heater so they were swimming in 85 degree water, actually felt pretty nice.

Mallory's Third Grade Class

I took this picture and ended up using it on t-shirts for each student in the class. Thought it turned out cute and what a great class!

Trip to Kansas City

Mallory had a three day weekend so we took off and headed to Kansas City. My Dad and his wife Chris were also able to fly in and spend some time with us. Mick wasn't feeling that great this weekend and slept horrible, I felt bad for the people in the room next to us. We spent some time at Crown Center and then time at Grandma's house. I love to travel but was ready to get Mick home and back to normal!

Easter

Gosh, I am just now blogging about Easter! How horrible, I am not even sure I remember what all we did. Wow, note to self, do not get this far behind again! We went to Church on Saturday night and then woke up and went to Grandma's house to hunt Easter eggs and have lunch. Mallory then spent the afternoon and evening at her Dad's house.

Biome presentation

After the party for Mrs. Schweikert we were invited to stay and watch the children's Biome presentations. Mallory was partners with Madi and Tyler, Tyler was absent on this day. Mallory did the speaking and Madi ran the computer. They both did a great job. Thanks for the pictures Janette!

Mrs. Schweikert's birthday

As a class we decided to surprise Mrs. Schweikert for her birthday. A Mom in our class Kim made her a beautiful cake, well not only was it beautiful but very yummy as well. We took a collection for a gift card for Mrs. S. to one of her favorite stores Wild at Heart. Needless to say she was surprised and thrilled with the afternoon!

Easter egg dyeing

Mallory got to spend an evening dyeing easter eggs. Mick is obviously not into taking that kind of time so as you can see he and his Dad spent their time in the garage.

Visit from the Madsen's

Chris's parents came for a quick visit the first weekend of April. The weather wasn't the best so we did our best to try and enjoy the weather while we could. Here are a few pictures from their visit.
