Exemplary

This morning we were invited to a breakfast to honor all of the children in Mallory's school that received Exemplary status on their 2009 Kansas State Assessment test. They take two tests, one in Reading and one in Math, this year she will also have to take one in Science. Mallory received Exemplary in both Reading and Math. We are so proud of her and feel lucky we got to share this moment with her! Way to go Mallory!!

Valentine's Day School Party

On Friday Mallory's class celebrated Valentine's Day with a class party. I have always been so lucky to get to help out with her class, hard to believe next year will be the last for school parties for Mallory. This year we (a great group of Mom's) decided to have a chocolate fountain and let the kids enjoy just sitting around having fun talking to whomever they wanted. We also had a guess the amount of candy jars and a game for the kids to play. Overall the party went great and I think the kids enjoyed having the chocolate fountain.
The whole class playing a game before the party started.

Family Project

A couple of weeks ago Mallory came home from school with a homework assignment. It was titled a "Family Project" now don't get me wrong I love doing projects with Mallory but as if we weren't already busy enough we now had a Valentine's Day box to make for school. The requirements were that the box had to have a 2x7 opening for valentines and must include a simple circuit which was a small light bulb. Mallory came up with a wonderful idea and it was up to me to make this idea work and Chris to make the simple circuit light up and work! She wanted to make a large size box of Sweethearts where one of the hearts on the front lights up. Well after many hours of designing we had our box. Way to go Mallory, it turned out really cute.
The front of the box. The green heart in the lower left hand corner lights up. The large heart in the middle is filled with real large sized candy hearts.
The side with Nutrition facts.
The back of the box. The large heart opens up for Mallory to have access to her simple circuit.
The other side with the Ingredients label.

Cincinnati!!

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Cincinnati. I can't tell you all what a wonderful time we all had! I am so lucky to be so close with my Sister, and I love it even more that we have boys 4 months apart that have a blast together! We went to not only spend time with them but to get to celebrate Walter's third Birthday. All nine of us packed into their house, thanks Laura and Sebo for putting up with all of us for the weekend. I will post all of the pictures soon but for now enjoy a few of my favorites!
All four cousins, Mick was a little unhappy but oh well, hard to get all four together!
