45 Years In Banking

Last night we attended an event to honor my Grandfather, W.A. "Mick" Michaelis. This is his 45th year in banking and they had a huge celebration to honor him. He is such a wonderful giving man with so many wonderful stories to tell. I am so lucky to have him as my Grandpa!! The best part of the night was watching all of the different people come up to my Grandpa and talk about how they have been in business together in the past, he was really enjoying it. For those that don't know Stockyards National Bank was a part an oil and gas sale that my Grandpa wanted to purchase but he didn't want the bank, only the oil and gas. They said no bank, no deal so 45 years ago he purchased and oil and gas company along with Stockyards National Bank. Amazing how far they have come.

I couldn't believe these were still around!!
This large display talked about the history of Emprise and the family.
One side talked about my Grandpa and his life.
The middle was a timeline of the bank.
The other side was about my Uncle Mike who is now CEO of Emprise.
The different communities that have Emprise Banks.
Emprise is known for all of their original artwork and have won many awards for their collection. Hugh Greer a local artist was in attendance painting a new piece to give away.
This board was filled with information about the bank and it's start and they way it looks today.
All of the banks that they have purchased that have now turned into Emprise Bank.

Happy Halloween

For those that don't live in Wichita I have to start off with how wonderful the weather was today! No wind, lots of sunshine, Trick-or-Treating without jackets, it was perfect!! We headed down to our neighbors around 6:15 and then headed out. We walked our little section of our neighborhood, Mick walked it all as well, he had a blast once he figured out what was going on. At one of the first houses we went to Mick went up and the man opened the door and put the bowl down at Mick's level, Mick took his bucket and set it in the bowl for the man to have, pretty funny! I love living in such a fun neighborhood. We came home around 10 Mick was ready to crash and Mallory was off to spend the night with a friend. Hope everyone else had a happy Halloween!!
My Witch and Football Player!!
Can we please goooo!!!
Mick actually stopped to let me take his picture, this never happens.
I was not really excited about this costume at first but fell in love with it once she got it on.
Mick wouldn't stand next to the girls so Chris had to join in. We started with 4 kids and by the time we ended we had 14!! Such fun.
At our neighbors house.
Keeping up with Daddy!
Even though Mick doesn't say the actual words he would attempt to say Trick-or-Treat and then after he would get his candy he would mumble when all the other kids would say Thank You
Still out having fun, she could of gone all night!!

East side Trick-or-Treating a day early!

Normally we spend Halloween night running around trying to see all of our friends and family. This year we decided to hit my family on Friday night and get to spend some quality with them instead of running over at 9:45 at night with grumpy tired children. My Mom made some wonderful Chili and homemade Cornbread. Such a great way to end a cool wet day! Thanks Mom!!

Red Ribbon Week Poster Competition

Mallory has been looking forward to designing a poster for Red Ribbon Week since school started. She came up with a slogan and idea with what she wanted to draw. She submitted it into the competition and won for her class! She was so excited that her poster is on display at school and she won a large candy bar to top it off!! I thought she did a great job, she spent a ton of time! Way to go Mallory!!

Her slogan is "Don't Go Fishing For Drugs"
